Review: Little Lad's Bakery & Cafe

Buried under 120 Broadway is a small store front with a deceivingly large cafeteria style restaurant. Named Little Lad's Bakery & Cafe, this restaurant is as much about the affordable vegan food as it is about nutritional education.

The offer a breakfast and lunch buffet. You can also order sandwiches and burgers. These come with a really good pile of herb popcorn. The buffet a rotating set of 6 dishes and they have a minimal but tasty salad and fruit bar.

It took me weeks of looking for a vegetarian restaurant near Wall street before I found little lads.

The food is great. From the hot buffet have macaroni and cheese today and mashed sweet potato. Very nice. here is their menu from their website

Come for Breakfast 7:00am to 10:00am and Our famous $3.99 all natural
Vegetarian/Vegan lunch buffet 11:30am to 2:30pm
The Buffet Menu includes but not limited to the following on rotating basis.

Armenian Pilaf
Burrito Pie
Spoon Bread
Bean Stroganoff
Linguini & Meet Sauce
Chop Suey
Crafty Macaroni & ?
Corn Pone Pie
Shepherd’s Pie
Shepherd’s Quiche
Unstuffed Shells
Sweet Peas
Kale
Corn
Potatoes
Brown Rice
2 Vegetables

People in this place talk and chatter about food. It is a happy place.

they charge just $3.99 for lunch buffet eat-in and by the pound for take out. It is the cheapest lunch I have found in the city in years.

I give this place the highest praise. Careful though. I have seen the unitinitiated weirded out by the place. The friendliness, openess, trust (pay as you leave and just tell them what you ate, they don't check up on you) freaks some people out. If you love Pax ...don't come to little lads.

Speak it Seth

Seth Godin was a keynote at the omniture summit 2008. I'm sure Seth rehashed a good deal of older material but he was still very effective. Read up on his meatball sundae material. I love enjoyed it despite the meat.

Review: Google-tarian

I am at an all day analytics event at Google in NYC. Lunch was very veggie friendly. They served a fantastic veggie wrap that contained avocado, peppers, and yellow tomatoes. Veggie wraps at events like these are usually after thoughts of slimy roasted vegetables. Not this one. It was fantastic.

The analytics info was good too.

Review: Field Roast Deli Slices

I tried the Smoke Tomato slices. The website describes this variety as "Smoked Tomato an exquisite blend of tangy tomatoes, deep, rich smoky notes, hearty red wine and a wonderfully complex mixture of spices". I agree.

This is a really yummy product. You can see all their products here.

Gotta tell ya...I love their name "grain meat co." Totally terrific.
